A couple of cars cleaned today.
One a quick clean, 40 minute job, the other a manic three hour job to de-dog hair, vacuum and shampoo all the seat bases and backs then quick wash and seal on the exterior. Only had three hours to do it in so I’m not truly happy with the rush job.
EDIT: pointed out and reminded, the Focus is an auto and not a manual as I originally said. Thanks Cé hé sin.
American forbidden fruit. Ford Focus Mk3.5 estate, automatic, diesel.

Man, you’d have a stroke if you saw my jeep.... Yesterday I went through a lane wide, 10cm deep puddle... on purpose... twice.

If you’d seen some of the cars I’ve had, you would stand next to me and slap the owner in the face when they returned to the car.

Welp.
I at least try to keep the interior clean, I could go around in a muddy car all day but if the interior is dirty it’s too much man!

Good man. In the winter the dirt acts as a protectant from the salt, etc...

Why do you live on the wrong side of the pond? My car needs you.

How do you remove road tar? I’ve used goo gone but it takes some rubbing and soaking. Im okay with using it as it seeems safe for the clear coat but it seem like there should be some better products out there.

I use Auto Finesse ObliTARate, it’s a fantastic tar and glue remover.
Spray on the area, let it do it’s thing and then wipe. Clearcote and single stage paint safe. ((as with any chemical, don’t let it dry on the paintwork o tackle a manageable area at a time)).
There are many good products out there such as the above, CarPro Tar-X, Gyeon Tar, Nanolex Tar Remover, etc...

Mistakes that Ford has made: not giving the US market a Focus estate.

Once I convince the wife. You’re in the UK, right? England, Scotland, Wales, North Ireland?

Not to mention the STs.

I’m in Northern England, 5 miles short of Scotland.

We got the MkI wagon, but none since.

That’s curious. Why does Ford keep sending you Euro cars intermittently?
You get the Escort, then not,
You get the Fiesta, then not, then you get it and now not.
You get the Focus, then do your own one, then get the universal (in limited body styles) and now you may get the new one in a limited spec (Active).

They have, but it was the early generation, not the current one.
Wasn’t a mistake though, no one would have bought them here in the US.
Certainly no one on this forum would have bought one without it being at least 3 years old after some “sucker” took the deprecation hit first. Then post and brag about how cheap they picked up one and wonder why manufactures won’t sell more of these things here!

Changing markets and realizing they can’t sell enough of them to make a viable profit to produce and sell them for the NA market.

But how about getting rid of that 25 year rule and let people decide with their own money.
In the U.K. if you want a Camaro, you can have one, find one, import it, get it inspected and put on the system and off you go (granted there are some changes such as requiring a rear dogfight, if the indicator and brake light are a single unit, they need to be separated, etc...).
But the U.S. will never do that for various reasons.

Someone at Ford has a fixation with the One Ford idea. They’ve been trying to implement it on and off for decades. But every time they take steps in that direction, someone else comes in and says, “Hey guys, Americans aren’t buying our European models, maybe we should not throw money down the drain to offer them cars they obviously don’t want.”

Ford is really going to hate it when gas prices get up to where they’re going. How’d Land Rover do when prices spiked a decade ago? Ford sedans aren’t selling because they haven’t been updated. A lot of manufacturers are doing fine with sedans sales in general.

Yeah my mom had one with the 2.3 zetec and a 5 speed manual

I could deal with that...
One of my ancestors moved from Dumfries to the Virginia colony around 150 years before the colonists revolted (of which none of my ancestors had any part), so it would almost be like returning home.

These are hard to find for sale now especially with a 5 speed.
